Video duration: 162 seconds The empty rush hour. The Monday holiday after Christmas LIRR was the only transit carrier to run a full rush hour schedule. All the trains in this video went by in about ten minutes, mostly empty. Trains are permitted 80 MPH are all four tracks. The Canon ELPH 300 HS cost $200 and is about the size of a pack of credit cards. Low cost HD video from a cigarette pack. |

Video duration: 59 seconds Holiday Transit Museum Special - It took over 2 minutes to get moving after the starting lights. Nobody really cared though. Notice the rolling brake test. Motorman takes power for a couple of seconds, shuts off and observes if the train continues to roll freely for about 3 seconds, then resumes, in this case at 'switching' speed. |
